Estrangement, the Strangers, and Westernization

About this book

Estrangement, the Strangers, and Westernization by Dr. Mahmoud El-Naggar, published by Dar Sayd Al-Khater, examines the psychological and spiritual alienation experienced by Muslims within their own changing homelands. The author anchors his analysis in the prophetic tradition concerning the strangers, interpreting this condition not as despair, but as steadfastness in holding to religious principles. The text critiques the replacement of Sharia rulings with man-made legal systems and investigates intellectual tools originating from colonialism and orientalism, such as secularism. Readers receive a comprehensive view of the civilizational confrontation facing contemporary Islamic identity and the necessity of returning to foundational texts for guidance.
