Trump's Council: A Council of Peace or a Council of Ruin?

About this book

El-Sayed Abdelhamid offers a critical reading of international politics associated with Trump, questioning the portrayal of political deals as a route to peace. He examines what he sees as the treatment of countries, sovereignty and humanitarian concerns as matters for bargaining. Gaza occupies a central place in this argument about the gap between public language and decision-making. The book also discusses the weakening of international legitimacy, proxy wars and technological change, presenting an opinion-driven challenge to the interests operating behind the rhetoric of peace.
