Two Cups of Salep

About this book

At an old cafe, Tamara and Aziz sit before two steaming cups of salep and write a future born after a fifth world war. In the year 2711, rival eastern and western kingdoms form a female-ruled order that enslaves men, while a fighter searches for her stolen daughter and a disguised brother enters the royal palace seeking revenge. The lost sciences hidden in Mount Diba may change the balance. As ink accumulates, the distance between the writers and their characters begins to collapse. Esraa Hussein layers dystopian adventure with a psychological story about authorship, power, memory, and whether imagined lives can dictate their creators' endings.
