Naftira

About this book

Mariam Rabie’s Naftira brings together self-contained reflections and letters about solitude, love, separation and faith in God. The pieces can be read in any order, allowing readers to move towards the subjects that speak most directly to their own experience. Emotional sensitivity is treated as a way of noticing and expressing what might otherwise remain unspoken. From this perspective, the collection considers exhaustion, disappointment and the effort to regain confidence. Its letter-like voice keeps the focus on personal experience and the possibility of continuing after a setback.
